On completion of its first year of inspiring existence, AIDA has decided to organise a two-day conference in January 2026 for bringing together policy makers, regulators, think tanks, industry participants, its collaborating partner organisations and all its member discoms for meaningful in-person deliberations on identified key topics highly relevant to improvement in performance of distribution utilities. It will be institutionalised as an annual conference organised by AIDA. Awards will also be presented to Discoms for excellence in Rural Revenue Recovery, Smart Meter Data Innovation, Digital Payment Enablement, Energy Transition & RE Integration, Agri Feeder Solarization, and Improved Consumer Services through Change Management.
All India Discoms Association (AIDA) was set up in December 2024 as a non-profit charitable society. It has now 51 utilities as its members. AIDA is now recognised as a unique platform representing the reasoned and collective viewpoint of distribution utilities in India. Its membership and the Executive Council consist of distribution utilities alone. It is working tirelessly for effective policy and regulatory advocacy, capacity building in discoms, and collaboration for sharing best practices and standardisation of equipment specification for better quality and competitive prices. AIDA aims at world class distribution performance for larger welfare of common electricity consumers.
