All India Discoms Association (AIDA) has successfully organised a National Webinar on 25th June 2025, focusing on the ‘PM KUSUM Yojana’ and the Government of Maharashtra’s flagship initiative ‘Mukhya Mantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 (MSKVY 2.0)’. The session was graced by Shri Lokesh Chandra, CMD, MSEDCL, who delivered an insightful presentation on the scheme’s transformative features and its impact on the power sector and rural economy. MSKVY 2.0 aims to solarize 30% of agricultural feeders and achieve a target of 16,000 MW solar capacity by 2026. The initiative is projected to save Rs. 10,000 cr. in power purchase costs and reduce the state’s annual subsidy burden by Rs. 4,500 cr., while also contributing to a 25% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. With the promise of reliable daytime power for farmers, enhanced grid efficiency, and lower AT&C losses, MSKVY 2.0 is being recognized as the world’s largest decentralized solar distribution scheme, Marking the beginning of a transformative shift toward clean, affordable, and sustainable energy in India’s agricultural sector.
