The Committee on Planning and Procurement of Bulk Power/Capacity has been constituted to provide strategic guidance and collaborative support to distribution utilities in matters related to long-term, medium-term, and short-term bulk power and capacity procurement. The Committee will serve as a platform to deliberate on issues such as demand forecasting, power procurement planning, tariff trends, emerging market mechanisms (e.g., MBED, DAM, RTM), and regulatory obligations under resource adequacy frameworks. It will also facilitate knowledge sharing on best practices and evolving strategies to ensure cost-effective, reliable, and sustainable power supply.

The Committee will meet at least once every two months.
