The Committee on Specifications and Procurement Practices has been constituted to support distribution utilities in standardizing technical specifications of various equipment and materials used by Discoms and streamlining the procurement processes. The Committee will review and recommend uniform specifications for key distribution assets and materials, promote adoption of quality benchmarking, material cost benchmarking, development of vendor data management, tendering and contract execution. The committee will also aim to identify gaps and inefficiencies in current procurement systems and suggest improvements aligned with cost-effectiveness, quality assurance, and supply chain reliability.

The Committee will meet at least once every two months.
