The Committee on Policy Related Matters has been constituted to serve as a dedicated platform for addressing policy-level challenges and concerns faced by distribution utilities. Its primary mandate is to proactively identify and deliberate on key policy issues, including those arising from draft regulations, policy proposals, and amendments circulated by the Ministry of Power (MoP), Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), Central Electricity Authority (CEA), and other relevant authorities. The Committee will play a key role in policy advocacy by consolidating inputs from member Discoms and representing their concerns, suggestions, and feedback. AIDA, if required in collaboration with other reputed institutions, will carry out in-depth study on various matters impacting Discoms. The study reports shall be discussed in the committee members before forming an opinion.

The Committee is expected to meet at least once every two months, with additional meetings if required, based on the urgency or importance of emerging policy issues.
